Tomatoes
Tomatoes have been vilified in the health movement for decades now—vilified due to misinformation about tomatoes.
The problem with tomatoes is that people eat tomatoes wrong, and when tomatoes are eaten wrong, they may pose some annoyances. It’s not that the tomato itself is a problem. It’s what is usually eaten with tomatoes that poses a health risk. People often have tomatoes with cheese, gluten-rich bread and pasta, butter, and even eggs. The complaints that people blame on tomatoes are usually joint aches and pains, arthritic issues, and body swelling. These are symptoms that generations have had consistently for years, regardless of whether a tomato was ever eaten around the time of their symptoms or not. Tomatoes don’t cause any of these symptoms. It’s the different varieties of cheese, milk, butter, eggs, gluten, and poor-quality oils that get people swollen, inflamed, arthritic, and physically unwell.
When tomatoes are properly eaten in combination with other fruits, herbs, leafy greens, vegetables, and even potatoes, tomatoes can really shine. Tomatoes harbor antiviral and antibacterial properties. They also harbor anticancer compounds and nutrients. Tomatoes are anti-disease, not pro-disease. The hydrobioactive water in tomatoes hydrates cells on a deeper level than many other foods. Tomatoes carry traces of sodium that are powerful building blocks to electrolytes. These electrolytes in the tomato, mixed with the fructose in the tomato, can easily enter into deep connective tissue and nerves throughout the body. Very little insulin is needed to bring the nutrients in tomatoes along with glucose into cells. Therefore, tomatoes protect the pancreas. Also, tomatoes protect the liver.
Tomatoes revitalize the kidneys, liver, and spleen and strengthen the immune system. Tomatoes also help to push back viral growth, which means viruses have a difficult time proliferating. When viruses are stifled by antiviral phytochemical compounds in tomatoes, then thyroid hormones can level out.
